Warnings....

Over the good friday holiday, a tornado hit my city, St.Louis Missouri. Over 1600 homes were damaged or destroyed. Our airport took a major hit too. Not ONE person was killed! When you hear warning sirens, TAKE COVER ! I've heard story after story of people heading to their basement and when they came back up, house gone ! Don't brush off the warnings, it could save your life !!!!

Glad to hear that you are okay! What a scary thing, and some good advice. No matter what you do, you cannot stop a tornado. I hope that all your friends and loved ones are okay too.

Oh, my, this is terrible. I have driven through St. Louis many a time. I didn't hear the news at all. I use to live in the Chicago area and being from the Mid-West I grew up with tornadoes being a fact of life. I hope that you and your family are ok.

oh my! The force of a tornado never stops to amaze and scare me! I remember being alittle afraid of them during my year in Nebraska... Scared, but also I wanted to SEE one... though I would probably have chickened out at the end... because every time there was even a smallest chance of a tornado I would hide out in the basement with the tv on to watch for alerts! yupp... I am so glad no one died, this time....

Praise God! No one was hurt! Tornadoes are my biggest fear and this scared the pants off of me! I completely agree with your advice. Being in Alabama we get a lot of these warnings and most people brush them off. We got one the other day and 3 tornadoes touched down in our town. One came not even 50 yards away from my house! So scary! Wonderful advice though! Absolutely love your blog!

We are taking a beating from the weather here in Louisville Ky.
and the floodwalls are all up. I live close to the river but we have a levee separating us from it. More storms and rain are on the way so all we can do at this point is pray that the pumping stations and levees do their job! I totally agree that when it's time for people to evacuate...you just do it! I hope everyone who is affected by this crazy weather will continue to stay safe.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It only breaks my heart further that only a few days later, more tornados have devastated the people of the south. Please donate to the red cross if you can and prayers go out to everyone who are having to deal with the flooding also !!!
